Painted milk bottles are the perfect weekend afternoon craft project.
I bet you have noticed milk bottles popping up everywhere lately. I sure have! Are they going to replace the ubiquitous mason jar? Probably not. But I do like them! I love the square shape of the bottles. Why hasn’t the square shape stuck? They are way more efficient than the round bottle for packing. Costco switched the square jugs to save money and space. (Okay fine, people hate it) But it does make sense for shipping and storing purposes.
I found one at a thrift shop a few weeks ago and decided to pick it up. It was a good size and shape. It’s a little plain but thats an easy fix with a little glass paint.
Using gold glass paint and masking tape, I painted the bottom gold and added a extra line. It took 2 coats and then touch-ups to get it completely covered.
I like the gold paint I had because it is a slightly more pink gold than yellow gold color. It looks nice in the kitchen and especially nice with some flowers!
Painting the milk bottle was a fast, super easy way to dress up a bottle. You can do the same with old vases that need a face-lift. You can play around with stripes and circles. Oh there are so amy options to customizing any bottle.
Side note: Isn’t the coffee grinder the coolest thing ever?! I found it at a vintage shop and loved it! My kitchen appliances are very old fashion so I wanted to play with that style and add some more old pieces. Plus I love any coffee related thing!
