Washer Necklace

February 4, 2013 By Lauren 8 Comments

Last week, I went into Home Depot for a toilet paper roll and came out with a new necklace idea. I have always thought washers would make a good accessory but I wasn’t sure what to do with them. I have been carrying around a couple rusted washers I found still hoping for a bright idea. Anyone into rust stains on their skin? Because I am pretty sure that’s what’s going to happen if those become a necklace.

Taking a thin wire, I wrapped each of the washers together to create a pyramid necklace. I wanted to keep all of the sides the same so I did the same thing on the top ring and used a skewer to keep the shape. I’m really happy with how it came out and now I am thinking about earrings and maybe different necklace shapes.

Clear fingernail polish will keep tarnish or rust off your skin. Love the idea 🙂

I love this. When will it show up on Pintrest? It’s really pretty and clever. Is it heavy?

It’s not heavy at all. About the same as any other necklace. It’s on Pinterest already. You can find it here: http://pinterest.com/pin/77405687317508688/
