Looks like rompers are making a come back… Yep that clothing item that is worn by babies.
I saw a lot of them at the beginning of the summer but was never really sold on the idea. Adorable for little kids but maybe not for me.
I recently joined a sewing group called Stitch Once, Rip Twice. Each month they chose a different challenge for everyone to complete. It’s a lot of fun to watch what everyone is making and have some fellow seamstresses to chat with.
Well of course, this month’s challenge is a romper! It’s the first challenge I am participating in, so I didn’t want to pass it up. But the more romper research I completed, the more excited I got about it. See these one are really cute!

Okay, I am sold. They are cute, comfortable, and you can dress it up or down depending on what is needed.
I had a few more problems on this outfit than I anticipated. I never checked the sizing before I started cutting and assumed I was a size 6. I can usually trust the pattern and make small adjustments later if needed. But not with this one. It was WAY too small! Oh I was so disappointed! I spent so long working on taking it out a little in every spot I could to make it a little bigger. This is not one that I will be showing the up-close details with other seamstresses. There is some seriously sloppy work going on on this romper. But you can’t tell from the pictures, right?
It’s still not as loose fitting as I hoped it would be but it is comfortable! I think it will make a great bathing suit cover.
So, don’t forget to ALWAYS check the size on your patterns before cutting.
