Go-To Dress

July 24, 2014 By Lauren 8 Comments

A few weeks back, I had that need to sew something. All week I was making sewing plans for the weekend. That’s all I wanted to do. I had a basic idea in my head but still up for options. Saturday came around and I marched down to Fabric Depot, bought a pattern and fabric and made a dress.

I ended up using a McCall’s pattern (M6744) and it was super easy and fits great! It has already become my go-to dress. It’s perfect for a casual afternoon or add heels and maybe a belt to dress it up. The elastic in the waist makes it very flattering while the rest of the dress is loose and comfortable.

RE-1I am obsessed with this dress and already thinking of the next one I am going to make. No one will notice if all of my dresses are made from the same pattern, right?

RE-3The one thing that is missing that I will for sure add next time are pockets! In fact, I might go back and add pockets to this one. Dresses with pockets are my #1 favorite thing in the world. I can’t believe I didn’t automatically add them to this dress. Where am I going to put my stuff?
