Let’s talk about fat quarters. They are beautiful, inexpensive, and at every fabric store. But what can you even do with them.
I always end up at the fat quarter corner going through the prepackaged bundles hoping to be inspired and trying to convince myself I can’t buy it for a future project.
I can seen how they would be perfect for quilters, but I am not much of a quilter. So I set out into the internet to find some fun projects to do with 18×22 inches of joy. Here is what I found:
Coasters from the Split Stich. These are adorable and I love them. And think of the holiday possibilities.
Gym bag from I’m a Ginger Monkey, Included on her site is a PDF of the project so you can easily recreate it.
Kindle/iPad case from Charm Stick. This is way cuter than my current iPad case.
Business card or Gift card holder from My So Called Green Life: I have a business card holder similar to this one and it’s perfect. Business cards always get destroyed in my purse and I don’t want them in my wallet so this is perfect. I also love the idea of giving them out with gift cards! Perfect.
Covered canvas from Blue Cricket Design: This is already on my to-do list for my new apartment.
Fabric pumpkins from Craft Buds. Good thing it’s October and the perfect time to make adorable pumpkins.
Cosmetic bag from Three Bears. I don’t think you can have too many bags. It’s not possible.
Pot holders from Awaiting Ada: These would make really cute gifts!
Bow tie by Awaiting Ada: Adorable
Do you have any other fun fat quarter projects? Or do you just lust over them like I do?

I made a few kindle cases using that exact same Charm Stitch tutorial a while ago and they turned out really good ( well, relatively good considering that it was my first sewing adventure)!
